Damn
Good Dog is the light-hearted and
quirky adventure of Uga (pronounced UH-guh),
an all-white male English bulldog and
the official mascot of the University
of Georgia. Declared by Sports Illustrated
as "America's Number 1 College Mascot,"
Uga (and his sons!) have been trotting
out to the football field for more than
forty years.
Narrated from Uga's
point of view, the "dogumentary"
reveals a wholly canine perspective on
life with his owner, Sonny Seiler, the
well-known Savannah lawyer featured in
the best-selling book, Midnight in the
Garden of Good and Evil. Sonny and his
wife, Cecelia, have made football and
the University of Georgia their lifelong
passion, devoting their lives to being
on the sidelines of every game with Uga
in tow. The Seilers are the appointed
keepers of the icon—the indefatigable
caretakers for a privileged pooch that's
considered the family dog by 240,000 living
University alumni. Shot in HDTV, (Hunker
Down Television) Damn Good Dog explores
two of America's greatest passions: football
and the family pet.
